Mosaic Glass Tile Art: Mosaic Masterpiece hang your heavy Make beautiful art of glass mosaic tiles, it's easy! Let me show you how.
You are so anxious to hang your first masterpiece, it seems that the store takes part never finish the frame. Finally, they call to say he is ready for pickup. Wow, they did an excellent job and the frame makes your mosaic even better. You can not wait to hang on the wall and show it.
It weighs a ton and you're nervous wondering whether a 10-penny nail in drywall thin can contain all that weight. You wisely decide that the nail must instead go into a wall stud. The last thing you want is your heavy mosaic crashing, jumping tesserae, breaking the custom frame, and cracking of ceramic tile. You will find the exact location of the nail and dig, hoping to find somewhere a similar amount of this place. Oh, no! nearest stud is six inches to the left. If you install the nail in that amount, the mosaic will not be centered on the wall and look terrible. Damn, now what? Relax. It's easy. In my eBook, we walk, step by step through the process of adding a strong support system in the wall that has many strong enough to hold your heavy magnum opus. This is not rocket science so do not panic. You can do it. Yes you can!
If your masterpiece has any size to it, it will be heavy. For example, one of my projects is only 27 "x32", but it weighs 24 pounds, enormous. Always be safety conscious. Never create a safety hazard. You must always ensure that the support system is strong enough to withstand the heavy load of your mosaic.
Some artists do not hang their pieces because they do not want to risk a fall hazard that can harm people or damage the piece. They commonly use removable solid wood easels, low to the ground, and well balanced to minimize the risk of tipping. Typically, these easels are used in galleries, but some people use in their homes. Personally, I'd rather see my mosaics on the wall. To me they look better and make the house feel more comfortable. Besides, who has room for several tents set up throughout the house?
The complexity of the support system depends on several factors, such as the weight of the mosaic, the location of the bolt offset from a wall stud, and safety concerns for your children. For example, if you find the location of the lag screw is right next to a stud wall, you may not need an elaborate support system like the one we install in the eBook. Instead, a small piece of 2x4 attached to the portion of the amount may be sufficient.
What we install in the book is probably the most complex support system you'll ever need a mosaic hanging, once you learn this method, you should be able to install any support system more simple as you might imagine. Remember, this is easy! You can do it. The book guides you every step of the process when I am there in your living room with you. Relax! Do not worry about cutting a big hole in your drywall. You will learn how easy it is to measure, cut the drywall, install a 2x4 support system on existing poles, replace the drywall patch, and paint - like a pro! It is easy. You can do it. Yes you can! Let me show you how.
